Your dance card has expired. Its time to renew it with an album thats worth rocking out to! Patsy Grind is an all girl group from Southern California that posses the sound of todays rock with a pure 80s feel. The intensity streaks out of these chicks with charging reckless lyrics and a serendipity style of songwriting. A diamond sharp compilation of songs with only two intentions: rock out and have fun while youre doing it. Just picture an all girl festival where a mosh pit suddenly opens. The Donnas, PJ Harvey, and Sleater-Kinney all jump in at once right in the middle of it crashing hard on The Bangles..yeah, its something like that. Its that CD you want in your player at all times. The one that you need to start your day and the one you need to finish it. Best played at a high volume while driving fast. Just watch your speedyoure likely to become so engrossed in Patsy Grinds Call It Love your not going to know what to call that speeding ticket youre bound to receive.

Ok, I got this CD in January_ and I listened to it and loved it. I havent written since then, and I feel so guilty about it. Heres a link to the bands myspace: www.myspace.com/patsygrindmusic. Theyve got some great songs, but my favorites are Superstar and Save Me. The lyrics are absolutely fabulous; its as though they crawled into my head and wrotesongs just for me. These women are the kind of women that make me want to be a musician. They make me want to express myself. They make me want to sing along. They make me FEEL. Patsy Grinds music is at the least, SEXY, DIRECT, and POWERFUL. Dont cheat yourself. Log in and listen. This powerful group of women includes: Danielle Silva on Lead vocals, Sharon Needles on bass, Leslie Stoddard on lead guitar, and the amazing Judy Cocuzza on the drums. I cant wait to hear more from them!

With this collection of catchy and fiercely intelligent testaments to the complexities of love, packaged in a sound and energy somewhat reminiscent of our favourite 80s Chanteuses, Patsy Grind's 'Call it Love' displays a unique character and temperament that will appeal to anybody who's ever been in love and managed to maintain their sense of humor. The album possesses a brilliantly clever lyrical style and sound and, true to theme, each track tells of a generally tragic love story with incomparable wit and an empowered edge. These entertaining, yet sardonic and darkly amusing songs colorfully reflect the unfortunate experiences of someone who would benefit from better judgment in love. But lets face it, wouldn't we all? We leave the album with our own tragic experience positively affirmed, reminded that the multi-faceted challenges of love are indeed universal, and with a sense of desperate anticipation... Perhaps if the next aural adventure from Patsy Grind speaks of love fulfilled and eternal happiness, in sun-drenched soliloquies of pure ecstasy, there really will be hope for the rest of us! Definitely check this one out.
